Brenda Ramseier is an artist and art teacher. Working in many mediums, her favorite at the moment is pen and ink, though watercolor is a close second. She enjoys doing barns, farms, trees, and nature scenes especially, but is not hesitant to try other subjects, and other mediums. She has sold over 200 pen and ink house portraits, doing the House Tours of several nearby cities, plus independent commissions.
Brenda was born and raised in Indiana and comes from a creative family that encouraged her passion for art. She graduated from Bob Jones University and received her teaching art credentials from Manchester University and Purdue University. She taught elementary and middle school art, recently retiring from the Maconaquah School Corporation. Currently she is still following her love and passion for teaching by doing workshops and classes for both children and adults.
She has exhibited in, and won many honors in shows across Indiana including The Hoosier Salon, Honeywell Center, The Anderson Center for the Arts, Ventures in Creativity in Ft. Wayne, and the Akron Area Art League. She has won Best of Show several times, and many first, second and third awards in the last 25 years. In October of 2014, she was awarded Artist of the Year from the Akron Area Art League, which was a very special, humbling honor. In 2018 Brenda realized one of her big dreams...having a solo show at The Honeywell Center Clark Gallery in Wabash. With 56 pieces she filled the gallery and received many compliments on the show. 2019 saw her in 9 competitions/shows and 3 solo shows in Northern Indiana. 2020 has already brought a new experience by exhibiting and joining the Northern Indiana Pastel group and having 2 pieces selected for their member show at Notre Dame.
Brenda and her husband Jeff are proud parents of two sons and their wives, and three wonderful granddaughters.. They live on a farm where art inspiration is a daily blessing from God.
The Art Giraffe dream came from loading and hauling materials to classes around the area. We had the grand opening on April 19, 2015. Classes are now scheduled (see Teaching page) and are being used for my personal art therapy!!! Come join us...check the schedule or contact me if you have something specific you would like to learn.
